⁷ and tomorrow put burning coals^(A) and incense^(B) in them before the Lord. The man the Lord chooses^(C) will be the one who is holy.^(D) You Levites have gone too far!”

⁵³ May the God of Abraham^(A) and the God of Nahor,^(B) the God of their father, judge between us.”^(C)

So Jacob took an oath^(D) in the name of the Fear of his father Isaac.^(E)

⁷ he may minister in the name^(A) of the Lord his God like all his fellow Levites who serve there in the presence of the Lord.

²⁰ But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods,^(A) is to be put to death.”^(B)

²² If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true,^(A) that is a message the Lord has not spoken.^(B) That prophet has spoken presumptuously,^(C) so do not be alarmed.

⁵ for the Lord your God has chosen them^(A) and their descendants out of all your tribes to stand and minister^(B) in the Lord’s name always.^(C)

¹¹ The name of the first is the Pishon; it winds through the entire land of Havilah,^(A) where there is gold.

¹³ The name of the second river is the Gihon; it winds through the entire land of Cush.^[a]

¹⁴ The name of the third river is the Tigris;^(A) it runs along the east side of Ashur. And the fourth river is the Euphrates.^(B)
